the best ideas of things that you can do when you are pregnant. I wish that I could do them ALL, but I am trying to pick the top things that I HAVE to do. I came across this idea to do a monthly belly shot and hold up your fingers to represent what number month you are in. Then at the end make a collage for a scrapbook, frame etc. I knew I HAD to do this.
I bought a black maternity tank awhile back and I am hoping that I can wear it for all of the pictures. Here are the first three months....it's kind of cool to see the first trimester side by side. Although I think that I look bigger in my 2 month pic then my 3 month. Oh, and by the way, I got my hair DID this week!;) It was SOOOO overdue....that is where the six inches of my hair went!:)
What do you think?

Prenatal Yoga
A few weeks back my neighbor/friend Annette who is also expecting asked me if I would be interested in doing a prenatal yoga class with her on Wednesday nights in Brighton. I have never taken a yoga class before, but I've heard that it is relaxing and relieves stress so I told her that I would love to check it out.
I went this past Wednesday with her and I am so happy that I did...I LOVED it. It was very relaxing and the teacher explained all of the different positions and took everything very slow....which is how I like it!:) I guess there are quite a few preggos in the class. That night there was only five of us (due to the nice weather) but that didn't matter at all...we just got a little more attention. Most of the other pregnant ladies are a little farther along, but there was one other 12 week gal in the class so that was nice.
The teacher was teasing me that I didn't even look pregnant....I told her that I DEFINITELY FEEL IT!:) I am glad I went and I will be looking forward to it every week. Especially since my M/W class is such a handful....I always feel more stressed on those days!;)
Plus, another good thing about yoga was the excuse to get my feet done....they REALLY needed it...

12 Weeks
I MADE it to the second trimester....(barely;)....but, I am officially 12 weeks and that is all that matters!:) My energy is back (WOO-HOO) and my nausea is still lingering, but I haven't been throwing up this week. Thursday I got hit with it hard though and had to leave work as soon as I got there. Luckily, they called in a sub ASAP and I got to go home and sleep....I am still not sure what that was all about.
I do have to say that I am SO excited to have my energy back. I am starting to feel like my old self again. I have a SUPER BUSY week of work this week. 32 parent-teacher conferences for four days straight....so I am going to need it!
How far along? 12 weeks.
Total weight gain: 3 lbs and a definite bump.

Best moment of this week: Reading that the baby can hear us now...makes me smile knowing that:)
Food cravings: ANYTHING Chocolate.
What I miss: Ahi Tuna.
What I am looking forward to: The start of my (hopefully) nausea free second trimester!;)
your baby's the size of a plum!
The average fetus at 12 weeks is about 2.1 inches long and .49 ounces. Now that she's got pretty much all her parts, her main job is to keep on growing.
your baby at 12 weeks
- Most of her critical systems are fully formed!
- She's about to enter the growth and maturation stage, in which her organs and tissues will grow and develop rapidly.
- She's now developing her reflexes -- if you poke her body, she'll likely move.
- She's opening and closing her fingers and curling her toes, too.
- Her brain is developing fast!

Spreading the news on Facebook...
I've been trying to think of a funny way to announce our pregnancy on Facebook for a few weeks now. I always knew that I wanted to have Chuck announce it, I just wasn't sure how I was going to have him do it. First, I thought of buying or making him a I'm the Big Brother shirt. But, then I wasn't sure if you would be able to read it once it was on him. Then I was thinking about making a I'm the Big Brother hat, but then I figured if it was anything like the Santa hat at Christmas, he would shake it off in 2.3 seconds.
One day he was lounging in the bay window in our bedroom and I grabbed my ultrasound pic and set it by him to see what he would do. He walked over, laid behind it and gave it a kiss and my heart melted. This was the perfect way to announce it. He loves his baby brother or sister already!;)

11 Weeks
This week started out well. Last weekend I had two really good days of no nausea. Monday and Tuesday were the same. I felt great at work, which was good because I was there until 9pm both nights because we had Dad's Night for both classes.
How far along? 11 weeks.
Then Tuesday night, when I got home, I started to feel really sick and it continued through Wednesday. When I woke up on Thursday I debated whether or not to go to work. But, we had a half day with a field trip in the afternoon and I figured that if I still felt bad I could leave early. I did end up leaving early and resting until I went to bed that night.
Friday and Saturday were more of the same. Nausea on and off through both days and nights. I have to say that it's wearing me down a little. Saturday morning was the worst yet. Which seems crazy to me since I am almost out of my first trimester. Aren't you supposed to feel the MOST nauseous at the beginning of your pregnancy??? I guess everyone is different.
I am trying to keep my eye on the prize. I am thrilled to be pregnant, I love this baby so much that I could burst and I would feel nauseous a hundred times over as long as it was healthy. I am just looking forward to the day that I start to feel like myself again. They call the second trimester the "honeymoon period" of pregnancy and I am praying that I will be in the stage sooner than later!:)

Total weight gain: 2 lbs and a definite bump.
Symptoms: Not AS tired, but still nauseous.
Maternity clothes? Pants and some shirts.
Sleep: Still sleeping like a champ!:)

Best moment of this week: Buying a super cute dress from Motherhood Maternity that I can hopefully wear for a few weddings and showers I have this Spring.
Food cravings: Chocolate.
What I miss: Los Tres Amigos Margaritas.
What I am looking forward to: Only having ONE more week until the start of my second trimester!:)
your baby's the size of a lime!
Your fetus is about 1.6 inches long, and she's got about a 1:1 head to body ratio. She now weighs in at about .25 ounces.
your baby at 11 weeks
- You can't see it, but she's moving fluidly and gracefully in there.
- Her skin is see-through, but she's on her way to looking more like a baby.
- Her fingers and toes aren't webbed anymore.
- Tooth buds, hair follicles and nail beds are forming

Bought our first piece of furniture for the baby...
but, its not actually in the baby's room!:) I've had my eye on this black cabinet at IKEA for awhile to go in our hallway upstairs. I figured we should utilize the space and it would give us more storage. Travis and I went to IKEA Saturday and he put it together for me right away. Besides...I couldn't wait to stuff it full of...
drum roll please...
MY DIAPER AND BABY WIPE STOCKPILE!!!!:))))))
Yes, I realize that it is a little ridiculous to buy a piece of furniture to store diapers and wipes, but hey, we had A LOT of each and I know that we will use them ALL and WAY more. I actually was able to fit (almost) my entire stockpile of wipes and size 1, 2 & 3 diapers in the 6 drawers. I still have a big box of newborn diapers and three big boxes of size 1 diapers that I just decided to keep in the baby's closet since we will need those sizes first. I also need to start stockpiling more size 2 and 3 diapers...I think we are all set on size 1!:)
I am happy with how it looks and the amount of storage it provides. What do you think? I am currently looking for two bigger pieces of art or frames for pics to lean against the wall behind the plants...

Nursery Furniture
Here is the furniture collection that we like at Buy Buy Baby. Whether it is a boy or a girl we will go with this collection in white. They had it in white in the store and it looked so sharp...wish they had it pictured in white on their website...boo...We for sure want the crib and the dresser (minus the hutch) with the changer on top. What do you think?
10 Weeks
This week has been a little better with the nausea. It's not completely gone and it's still a little unpredictable, but I am still finding that the more often I eat, the less nauseous I feel. Two more weeks until my second trimester...Woo-hoo!!!! That is something that I am REALLY looking forward to!:)
Travis and I went to Buy Buy Baby this weekend to buy a gift for Angie's shower and while we were there we picked out the furniture and glider we want for the baby. I should have took my camera, but I will see if I can find it on their website to post. We also picked out a stroller, car seat, pack n' play, highchair etc. that we like.
I think we will officially start our registry after our appointment on May 16th, but the things that we picked out this weekend will work whether we have a boy or a girl. It was just nice to get a head start on picking out everything!;)
I am looking forward to this week and I am praying I have less nausea and more energy. I have a REALLY busy week of work with Dad's Night Monday and Tuesday and a field trip to the Health Exploration Station Wednesday and Thursday....so my little baby...mommy could really use a break this week!;)

Now, she's about 1.2 inches long and weighs about .14 ounces. Her body length will almost double in the next three weeks.

- Baby has working arm joints, and her cartilage and bones are forming.
- Her vital organs are fully developed and they're starting to function.
- Her fingernails and hair are starting to appear, too.
- Plus, she's swallowing and kicking in there. (Can you believe it?!)

May have found the solution...
to the all day nausea. Monday was a very rough day. I considered leaving work early. Tuesday, I decided to pack as many snacks as I could for work. I ate one small snack every hour and I didn't feel nauseous ONCE at work!!! It was almost like my body didn't have a chance to feel sick because I was stuffing my face all day long!;) Wasn't sure if it was a fluke, so I tried it again today and again....no nausea at work!!!!:) I am still feeling it in the morning and right before dinner or before I got to bed, but hey, if I can make it through the work day without feeling sick then that is a WIN for me!:) Let's hope it keeps working!!!!

9 Weeks
I am 9 weeks today...Yay!:) HOPEFULLY I will only have three more weeks of nausea. I am counting down the days until my second trimester...March 25th you can't come soon enough. Everyone around me has been so sweet. Karlee, the parents, and teachers at work have been so sweet everyday. They ask how I am feeling, check in on me and cover me when I need to make a run for the bathroom!:) Friends and family have also been really sweet checking up on me. But, the award of greatness would have to go to Travis. I don't know what I would do without him!!!!
He has been waiting on me hand and foot since the beginning, but since the nausea started he has stepped up his game even more ( if that is possible:) and has taken over EVERYTHING at home. He will make me a specific dinner that I requested and then not get mad when something sets me off and I start gagging and don't eat a single bite. He wakes me up every morning with some caffeine free Coke and saltines and lays with me in bed until I feel good enough to get up. He has taken on all of the cooking, cleaning, laundry.....the list goes on and on...I am very lucky to have him!:)
9 weeks....I am hoping you are going to be the week where I start to feel better...only time will tell. I can't wait for this month to be over. The weather will be better, hopefully the sickness will be done, the baby will be bigger, my second trimester will start, it will be safe for me to get my hair highlighted, Our next doctor's appointment will be here and I will only have a few weeks of work left. So come on April....you can come anytime now!:)

your baby's the size of a green olive!
She's gaining steam! At 9 weeks, your fetus measures around .9 inches and weighs about .07 ounces.
your baby at 9 weeks
- This is a milestone. She's no longer an embryo -- now she's a fetus!
- She's developing more distinct facial features.
- And she might now have a strong enough heartbeat to be picked up by a fetal doppler.

It has been decided...
officially...whether we have a boy or a girl...the nursery will be owl themed!!!! I am so excited!!! I have been scouring Etsy and pinning things on Pinterest with an Owl theme for months. I've found some really cute stuff and I can't wait to pull the trigger on a boy or girl owl themed nursery. The walls will stay light yellow (my favorite color) either way and we will just add in pink/pastel accents for a girl and blue/pastel accents for a boy. May 16th...you can come ANY time now!;)
Here are just a few pictures of some of cute things I've found:
Oh, and of course my mom loves the idea of an owl themed baby shower...so she is going with that!:) Which I am thrilled about because I am obsessed with themes and again...I have seen the cutest owl stuff on Etsy....and now she is finding stuff she likes for the shower on there too!:) It is so addicting!!!!

MARK YOUR CALENDARS!!!!
The BIG ultrasound has been scheduled!!! I called the new imaging center at the hospital today to schedule the BIG day! We will be finding out if we are having a boy or girl on May 16th!!!! It can't come soon enough!
*On a side note...the first and earliest day they would schedule the ultrasound was Monday, May 14th. OF COURSE I picked that day and scheduled the first available time slot. Then...a few hours later...it HIT me...we have a big field trip to Real Life Farm that day and the next. :Tear: So, I had to call back and move it to Wednesday the 16th. I think those two extra days of waiting might KILL me...literally KILL me!

Our Second Doctor's Appointment!
:Que BIG smile: we got to see the baby again today and it was WONDERFUL!!! The first thing I said was, "Wow, it looks so much BIGGER." and Travis said, "It actually looks like a baby this time." My doctor just laughed and said, "Yeah, well, in the past two weeks it has quadrupled in size." It is so cool to see the baby....I wish I had my own ultrasound machine at home!;)
The doctor said that everything looked wonderful. The heart was again beating away. This time the baby was wiggling all over the place!;) When it finally settled down for a minute she measured and took 5 pictures...all of which we got to keep...Yay!:) My doctor must know how I feel about pictures...the more the better!;) She said that the baby is measuring a little ahead this time so she changed my date from October 8/9th to October 6th. We will see if that sticks...October 6th sounds great to us!
Here are a few pics of our little lovie:
