Dear Baby,
Your mommy loves you more than anything. But, I would appreciate you easing up on the nausea a little bit...just a little...could you do that for your mommy? I think your daddy would appreciate it too!;)

8 weeks
Ugh...again...sorry for all of the complaining. I feel like every post lately has been the same. But, I am still feeling sick and I pray every day that it only lasts for a few more weeks. I am trying to stay positive...it's just hard sometimes!:) We have our next appointment this Thursday. I am SO excited to see the baby again. I will hopefully get more ultrasound pictures that I can share!:)
How far along? 8 weeks.
your baby's the size of a raspberry!

- Her fingers and toes are now only slightly webbed, and her tail (yes, she had one) is gone.
- Fun fact: your baby's taste buds are now forming.

Ugh...
The nausea is really taking it's toll on me this week. I have been gagging and dry heaving since I got home from work today...its horrible. I have never gagged like this in my life, its really weird. I go from being starved to gagging/dry heaving at the thought of eating...its NOT fun. It's also hard because its not happening at a "certain time of day" anymore. It's when I wake up, before I eat, after I eat, right before bed, in the middle of the night...ugh...being the control freak that I am I don't like the unpredictability of how I am going to feel from minute to minute..I know this is the best reason to be sick...but it still sucks!:(

7 Weeks
Well, hello there nausea!!!! I was wondering when you were going show up. I have been nauseous all week and while it does suck, I know that it means that the baby is healthy and growing. Like my doctor said to me last week, the ickier you feel, the better sign it is that everything is as it should be. Of course she said that before the nausea started!:) I am feeling it the most right when I get up and right before I go to bed. Travis has been great about getting me saltines and I have been sipping Sierra Mist which seems to help keep it down. It sucks, but it is the best reason to feel sick!;)
How far along? 7 weeks.
How far along? 7 weeks.
Total weight gain: Nothing yet, but ladies and gentlemen I do have a slight bump.
Symptoms: STILL tired and now nauseous.
Maternity clothes? Yes, as crazy as it sounds I made the switch with jeans. Skinny jeans with a small belly band at the top and it has made life so much easier!:)
Sleep: Still sleeping like a champ!:)
Best moment of this week: Getting to see our baby for the first time. Watching the heart beat was hands down THE BEST THING EVER!:)
Food cravings: Peanut butter.
What I miss: Coke.
What I am looking forward to: Our next doctor's appointment on March 1st!
your baby's the size of a blueberry!
Your .51-inch embryo doesn't exactly tip the scales just yet but she's developing like crazy. She's already doubled in size since last week.
your baby at 7 weeks
- She's generating about one hundred new brain cells each minute!
- Not only is her brain becoming more complex, but her heart is too.
- Also important: She's developing a permanent set of kidneys
- Her arm and leg joints are now forming.

Our First Appointment!
I was so excited and nervous for our first appointment today. Yesterday I had some spotting which concerned me....I know its completely normal in the first trimester, but it doesn't make it any easier when it does happen. So today at my appointment I talked about it with the doctor. She said it is most likely cervical irritation which can happen very easily...like as in you can have a coughing fit that can result in spotting...which is crazy!!! She reassured me that it is normal to have it in the first trimester. They are only REALLY concerned if it gets heavier and cramps accompany it...which thank GOD it has already stopped as I am typing this tonight and I haven't had any major cramping.
She estimated me around 6W4D and was unsure before the ultrasound about how much we would see that early on. So I was definitely surprised that she saw the sac, baby and heartbeat RIGHT away. She turned the monitor and we got to see the baby and its heart beating away. It was the BEST thing ever....truly amazing...of course I had tears in my eyes when I saw that little heart beating strong and fast!:) Here are our baby's first pictures:
The best pictures I have ever seen if I do say so myself!;) After the ultrasound she again reassured me that the spotting was nothing to worry about and that the baby is clearly unaffected by it. I did have a bout of spotting right after the ultrasound and she just told me that I should take it easy the next two days. Try to stay off my feet and relax and she is confident that would clear up the cervical irritation quickly. She said that having the vaginal ultrasound didn't help the situation because the wand was rubbing against the area that was already irritated.
I am trying to not let the spotting get to me and staying positive if it happens in the future. I have talked to so many people and maybe out of 20 people...18 people had spotting in the first trimester. So it seems to happen more often then not so that is reassuring.
We are so trilled that everything is great with our little pumpkin. We decided today to spread the word to everyone who didn't already know. I have a tentative due date of October 8th or 9th. But, I have another appointment/ultrasound in March so the baby will be a little bigger for more definite measurements and a more concrete due date! Until then I am resting as much as possible....which isn't that big of a deal....I am so exhausted already....I could sleep like its my full time job!;)

6 Weeks
I am so excited for our appointment this Wednesday. I keep counting down the days. I have two really busy days at work with our Mother's/Valentine's Day Parties Monday and Tuesday, so that should keep me busy because the anticipation of seeing the baby is KILLING me!!!!
How far along? 6 weeks.
How far along? 6 weeks.
Total weight gain: Either I am having twins or am severely bloated, but I have a definite little bump going on which seems CRAZY to me so early on.
Symptoms: Still TIRED, Still HUNGRY and still peeing 47 times a day and night. I am starting to feel nauseous at times. But, if I drink right away it seems to go away. I am also breaking out like CRAZY all around my chin, which is a place that I HAVE NEVER had acne before...it's so weird!
Maternity clothes? Not yet, I ordered some maternity jeans that were on clearance at Gap.com, it might be sooner than later that I make the switch at this point. All of my jeans are officially too tight, especially around the waist and up front!!!
Sleep: Sleeping like a champ. I can sleep anytime, anywhere like its my job!:)
Best moment of this week: Buying some adorable newborn shoes (boy and girl) that were on clearance at Kohls. I CANNOT wait until the day we find out what we are having.
Food cravings: Orange juice and pickles...not together of course!;)
What I miss: Cookie Dough
What I am looking forward to: Our first doctor's appointment THIS Wednesday!:)
your baby's the size of a sweet pea!

The average embryo at week 6 is about .25 inches and will double in size again next week. Wow!
your baby at 6 weeks
- Obviously, she's growing like crazy!
- She's also circulating blood with her increasingly more sophisticated circulatory system.
- She's about to get cuter too, since she's starting to sprout a nose, eyes, ears, chin and cheeks.
- And she might even be wiggling her (paddle-like) hands and feet.

5 Weeks
This week has been good so far. I am feeling good, I am hoping that I keep feeling well and not nauseous. But, I don't know, I heard 6 or 7 weeks is when it begins. I am getting so excited to see the baby next week...I seriously CANNOT wait!!!! We decided we are going to tell everyone who doesn't know after our doctor's appointment.
How far along? 5 weeks.Total weight gain: Nothing yet....but still bloated...ugh.
Symptoms: Still TIRED, Still HUNGRY and I am peeing 47 times a day which is super fun.
Maternity clothes? Not yet, but all of my jeans seem to be getting tighter at the top and the front.
Sleep: I am sleeping much better and averaging about 12 hours a night...no joke...it's pathetic.
Best moment of this week: Buying some Halloween costumes on clearance for the baby at Parisian. I found an adorable kitty costume if its a girl and a monkey costume if its a boy.
Food cravings: Shamrock shakes...yum...yum...yum...
What I miss: Coke
What I am looking forward to: Our first doctor's appointment next Wednesday!:)
your baby's the size of an appleseed!
Your embryo is now measurable -- though at week five, it's a wee .13 inches -- and she's gearing up for much more growth. In fact, in the next week, she'll almost double in size. Grow baby grow!
your baby at 5 weeks
- The embryo doesn't look like much more than a tadpole right now, but at five weeks, she's already starting to form major organs (heart, stomach, liver, kidney) and systems (digestive, circulatory, nervous).

Finally had to bite the bullet...
and spring for some maternity jeans. Luckily, most of my tops are flowing and I will be able to wear them well into my second and maybe even third trimester. But, jeans, that is another story. I know it seems early, but all of my jeans are so tight at the top. I do so much bending over at work and I have been so uncomfortable for awhile now. I debated buying a belly band and trying to wear then for another month or so. But, they are all so TIGHT up front and at the top that I don't think it would work with all the bending I do on a daily basis.
Of course I still want to be stylish. I want cute skinny maternity jeans that I can wear with my boots and flats this Spring and Summer. I checked many places, Target, Kohls, Old Navy....but Gap had the cutest, true skinny jeans, hands down. They were a little pricey, but they are good quality and worth the extra cash. I bought two sizes in both and hope I can wear them through my second and third trimester!:)
What do you think?
