17 weeks

Still feeling great and I couldn't be more happy about it. I actually feel like I am in that weird stage where I don't have any pregnancy symptoms and I don't "feel" pregnant at all, but I have a definite bump. But, it's also not big yet, so when I am around people that don't know I am pregnant I feel like people are thinking "Why would that girl wear a shirt that tight when she has a chunky stomach?!" I am looking forward getting a little bigger so it's obvious to everyone!:)

We are chomping at the bit over here in anticipation of finding out what we are having!!! 18 more days...18...did I mention we only have 18 days left? It feels like an eternity!!! Until then I guess I will have to settle for the anticipation of our next appointment this Friday. I am excited to hear the baby's heartbeat again.

Either this week or next I am going to survey my students and ask them to guess what I am having and also what I should name the baby and chart their responses. I will take a picture of my chart and put it on here for anyone reading to have a good laugh. I can only imagine what 32 five-year-olds will say. Last time I asked them they unanimously agreed I was having a girl and that her name should be Annabelle!:)

Also, I finally got around to taking my monthly belly shot this weekend...only one week behind! Woot!:)
How far along? 17 weeks.
Total weight gain: I will find out this Friday...I am still guessing 5-10ish?
Symptoms: Feeling great, just wish I could find a comfortable position to sleep in.
Maternity clothes? Still mainly pants...I am working a few maternity tanks into the rotation though!;)
Best moment of this week: Feeling tiny flutters, hoping they get stronger soon!:)
Food cravings: Soft pretzels and Feta.
What I miss:  Drinking Coke any time I want!:)
What I am looking forward to: 18 Days until the BIG ultrasound!!!!!!

your baby's the size of an onion!
Baby continues to beef up. Now she's about 5.1 inches long and weighs about 5.9 ounces.

your baby at 17 weeks
  • Her rubbery cartilage is now turning to bone.
  • And she's growing some meat on those bones -- putting on some fat.
  • She's growing a stronger, thicker umbilical cord, too.
Here is what the bump is looking like at 4 months:
