23 Weeks!

Feeling good and Landon has stayed off of my sciatic nerve (for the most part) this week, so that has been great. I have been trying to keep myself busy now that I am off work for the Summer. I made a list of things that I want to get done for him but I am noticing that it's getting a little harder to move around these days. Several people have told me that I look bigger and I am definitely thinking he is going through a major growth spurt this week!;)

How far along? 23 weeks.
Total weight gain: DEFINITELY over 10 lbs!
Symptoms: Just plain feeling H-U-G-E!
Maternity clothes? Pants and shirts.
Best moment of this week: Landon has been kicking more and more and I LOVE it!:)
Food cravings: Chocolate.
What I miss: Brownie batter;)
What I am looking forward to: Having his furniture delivered and setting up his room.

your baby's the size of a grapefruit!
At about 10.5 to 11.8 inches and about 12.7 to 20.8 ounces, baby's not just getting bigger, she's getting even cuter.

your baby at 23 weeks
  • She's forming little nipples (yeah, really!)
  • Her face is fully formed now -- she just needs a little extra fat to fill it out.
  • She's listening to your voice and your heartbeat -- and even to loud sounds like cars honking and dogs barking.
And just for fun...here are a few onesies I made for him this week:

22 Weeks!

Still feeling pretty good. Although Landon has discovered my sciatic nerve and he has had a blast hanging out on it this week. I have always dealt with lower back pain...but OH MAN....this is a whole new pain. Sometimes when he is really on it I can barley stand upright and I have to walk around haunched over in pain until he moves off of it. It hasn't been fun....but I am trying to just take it easy and stay seated when it happens.

The crib will be delivered Tuesday!!!! I will post pictures of his room so far this week...so stay tuned!:)

21 Weeks!

Feeling a little behind....I finally got around to taking my 5 month pictures....its only a little late!:) Still feeling good. This week officially starts my Summer break. And for the first time in (maybe 10) years I am not working this Summer...and it feels weird. I made a list of everything that I want to get done this Summer, right now it feels like an eternity, but I know it will go by super fast. My mom says that I should enjoy the quiet...because I will never have that again!';)

I am really enjoying being pregnant right now. I am feeling him more and I actually have zero symptoms right now (other than being MUCH bigger) and have been sleeping pretty well...trying to enjoy it while it lasts!;)

I found out this week that the bedding that I registered for is DISCONTINUED!!!!! I was so mad...the same thing happened with the bedding we put on our wedding registry. The worst thing is that this bedding is EXCLUSIVE to Buy Buy Baby/Bed Bath and Beyond so it's not like I can find it on Amazon or Ebay to order once they are all out. So, I headed to Buy Buy Baby this weekend and used my gift cards from the kids to buy the bedding set, bumper, lamp, mobile, changing pad cover and some matching sheets. We didn't want to have to buy it, but it feels good to have it all now especially since almost all of it is out of stock online and the stores barley have any left.

I also got a surprise on Friday...THE CRIB IS IN!!!!!:) Can you believe it??? They said 16-20 weeks and then BAM they called to say it was in. Still waiting on the dresser/changer to come in, but the crib will be delivered June 5th. I am so excited to start getting his room in order. I have been working on organizing his closet and finished his letters and some artwork for the walls. Pictures to come soon...

How far along? 21 weeks.
Total weight gain: Maybe 8-10ish.
Symptoms: Other than feeling huge there is nothing else to report.
Maternity clothes? Pants and more shirts.
Best moment of this week: Feeling Landon move more and more.
Food cravings: Gobstoppers.
What I miss: Sushi.
What I am looking forward to: Hearing his little heartbeat at my next appt. this Thursday!:)

your baby's the size of a pomegranate!
At 10.5 inches and about 12.7 ounces, she's big enough now that you've probably been feeling her movements.

your baby at 21 weeks
  • As her digestive system preps for the outside world, she's manufacturing meconium -- the tarry black substance you'll find in her first dirty diaper (ew)!
  • If it's a girl, she's already got a lifetime's supply of eggs in her womb -- about six million of them!

Ask and you shall receive...

A few weeks ago, I put out a note to the parents of my classes telling them I was looking to collect current Bed, Bath & Beyond coupons as well as the very hard to find Buy Buy Baby coupons. I am seriously SHOCKED with the amount that they have given to me. This is honestly HALF of the pile. The other half I have already given away or used myself. Just goes to show you how helpful people are willing to be!:) I am looking forward to sharing the wealth with my friends who are also expecting/getting married this year.

I wanted to do this post for memories sake for Landon. Just to tell him a little bit about how my two classes this year (including the parents AND fellow TEACHERS) have been so helpful, caring and excited for us. Yesterday and today were my last days of school and I am overwhelmed with feeling a gratefulness for such wonderful families this year. I am always grateful for my wonderful co-workers!;)

Both classes surprised me with Buy Buy Baby gift cards that they all went in on together....all I can say is we will definitely be putting them to good use. They also have given me an abundance of outfits, books, bibs, blankets, hand drawn pictures, toys etc. all for Landon. One parent even brought me two brand new never used swings to keep at my mom's house for him to use. I am beginning to think that they love him more than me!;) On top of ALL of that, they have been so caring these past five months...asking how I am feeling....demanding ultrasound photos and even calling up/stopping by the school the day I was gone for the BIG ultrasound trying to find out if it was a boy or a girl before I even got back to school to tell them!;)

He is truly blessed to have all of these families(that may never even meet him in person) care so much!:)

20 Weeks and Landon's First Shopping Spree

Ever since we got to see little Landon I have been on cloud nine. All of the cramping, backaches, leg aches etc.that have crept up on me this week have been totally worth knowing he is just having a blast in there.

I am just so anxious to meet him now. It has been nice talking to him and calling him by name this week. I have to say that this little guy is SO SPOILED already!!!! I mean honestly...

Wednesday right after we left the ultrasound, there was NO time for lunch...my mom and I headed right to Baby Gap to do some serious damage now that we officially knew what we were having. I have to say that I went a tad bit overboard (I know that is not like me at all;) and a few hundred dollars later (yes, I know I'm crazy) this is what we walked out with:

Most of the stuff I bought at Gap is bigger 6-9 and 9-12 Month for next Spring. I did get the a few pairs of jeans on sale which was nice...but for the most part it's been a little difficult finding Fall stuff right now. But, I do love what we bought and I can't wait to put these little outfits on him!:)

Then on Saturday my mom and I went to Parisian and they had two full racks of Carter's stuff on clearance. I was shocked when we scanned one of the outfits and they came up $6.97!!!! We quickly realized that everything on the rack was that price and...again...I went a little crazy. But, this time I got some 3 and 6 month soft stuff for him to wear right away:

I had to add this pic in because Chuck had to check all his little brother's stuff out. Doesn't he look cute in his post surgery onesie? He has to keep it on so he doesn't lick his stitches.

And here are a few things that my mom surprised me with for Landon on the day of the ultrasound. Landon is so lucky to have a Grandma (actually she wants to be called Mi-Mi:) that loves him so much already:

Okay, now onto a brief 20 week update...I am HALFWAY there...Woot!:) We have been so busy this weekend that I will have to take and share my five month picture another time. But, I  do have to say that this week has been great.

How far along? 20 weeks.
Total weight gain: 7ish lbs.
Symptoms: Some cramping and aches all over...he is growing!!!
Maternity clothes? Still mainly pants...I am working a few maternity tanks into the rotation though!;)

Food cravings: Chocolate...this could become a major problem!:)

What I am looking forward to: Just holding my little guy in my arms!:)

your baby's the size of a banana!
Baby weighs about 10.2 ounces and measures about 6.5 inches. She's still got a lot of growing to do though. Can you believe you're halfway done?

IT'S A BOY!!!!

We are so thrilled and happy that our little baby is a BOY!!!:) I barely slept a wink Tuesday night. I was just so excited to see the baby again (looking like an actual baby) and to FINALLY find out what we were having!!!!

We had both of our mom's with us at the ultrasound. I thought it would take a while for the tech to determine what the baby was. But, honestly, this is how it happened. I laid on the table, she squirted me with the gel, laid the wand on me for like 10 seconds and said, "Okay, are you ready to find out what the baby is???" I was so shocked she could tell that fast. Then she told us that the baby was butt up with it's legs apart so she blew it up on the screen and typed, IT'S A BOY!!!!:)

We all started to sob. I cried like a baby the whole time. But, probably the hardest when I saw his little face looking at us for what seemed like forever. I just fell SO in love with him...it was a love like I have never felt before I can't explain it!!!:)

He was so active during the ultrasound we got a lot of good shots...everything looked great....he is healthy which is the biggest blessing of all!:) We have officially decided on a name: Landon Ramsey Rolfe. So he will always have a piece of mom and dad with him!:)

Here are some pics of our little guy:
Getting my thumb ready to suck....notice it's the left hand like Mommy!:)

Cute little profile shot!:)

19 weeks and Happy Mother's Day!:)

So, for a few weeks now I have been teasing Trav that I better be getting a REALLY nice gift from the baby and Chuck. Especially, after all the sickness I went through for those first few months!;) He has been teasing me back saying that he better be getting a really nice Father's Day gift from the baby for taking such good care of me, the baby and Chuck this whole time....I guess he does deserve one too.

It is weird thinking that this is my first Mother's Day...without the baby actually being born...but hey, I guess it still counts!:) All I really want is for the ultrasound to go good this Wednesday and to make sure that everything looks great with the baby...and of course to find out what we are having!;)

But, Travis did surprise me with a gift card to Buy Buy Baby and Baby Gap so that my mom and I can shop till we drop this Wednesday after the ultrasound. Chucky also gave me a card and breakfast in bed this morning so that was nice!:) He loves his mom!;)

I am feeling great this week. I am going to have to get something to assist with my sleeping though. I have tried everything to get in a comfy position at night....it's time to pull the trigger and buy a body pillow or a pregnancy pillow.

How far along? 19 weeks.

  • Developing a protective coating over her skin, called vernix caseosa. It's greasy and white and you may see some of it at her birth.
  • Working on her five senses. Nerve cells for her sense of taste, hearing, sight and smell are developing in her brain.

  • Just for fun...A pic of me and my pumpkin on my first Mother's Day!:)

being pregnant with your best friend is way more fun!;) Here are some pics of me at 18 weeks preggo and Melissa at 24 weeks preggo. Love ya Bro!:)

18 weeks...just a little late!;)

Sorry for the weekly update delay, but we were busy tending to our other baby Chuck who had to have surgery this week. He is doing well now and is home...but of course, he comes before the ol'blog, so I am trying to catch up with life right now!:)

I've felt really good this week and honestly have been so preoccupied with Chuck that I haven't thought much about the pregnancy. A few days this week I felt tiny flutters, which is always a nice reminder!:)

We had our doctor's appointment last Friday and everything looks great. The heartbeat has slowed a little to the 140's. I am excited for this Wednesday...it's almost time to find out what this baby is!:)

How far along? 18 weeks.
Total weight gain: Officially 7 lbs...feels like more though.
